i'm not sure what i did, but i recieved this letter.

No idea but if they were offering you the service for free. then they can do what ever they want. Also what service did you use. Web site. ? If so what kind of site. What did it do?
or spamming email. Abuse of ads, it could be anything.

try to get in touch with direct support or a least to get a more specific answer about what you did with your account. Usually, they send this letter of notice if you are a spammer or at least seem to be a spammer, but mostly if you try to 'hack' their SE indexing method. Keep us update!
