Blogging vs. Twitter

Are you a fan of Twitter?
I think it is sacrilegious for people to think that Twitter / microblogging can replace conventional blogging. What are your thoughts? FYI I've only recently gotten into Twitter but my passion's still in blogging

I couldn't agree more that Twitter can't and shouldn't replace blogging. It *should* however help promote your blog. When you publish a blog post, announce it on twitter with a link back to it. Your blog is your home base and Twitter is a cocktail party.

twitter and blogging two different thing. you can just write 150letters (i think) to twiteer but in blogging you can express as much as you want

I too agree with Handsome. Twitter/microblogging and blogging are totally different things. I do think many person who blogs and likes blogging will like twitter. Because limiting your self to 150 words feels so useless and boring. The only good thing is that it can act useful getting traffic and popularizing your site

It's different and it's useless to compare them. To have good traffic to your blog, bloggers usually prefer bookmarking/networking site to promote their blog and Twitter is one of the best networking sites. Also it's good to promote your "own" domain.

Blogger use twitter like social media sites to increase their site traffic. What is the need of comparing them. I think both of them are totally different.

i still prefer blogging as you can provide complete information to what you need to say than having the limited character such as in twitter.

To me Twitter is just a way to promote my blog, like others have said. I'm not much of a Twitter user myself - I don't really like that mode of chat so I don't spend much time there. A lot of people get a fair amount of traffic from Twitter, but it's more about building relationships so you don't come across as a spammer.
