How many article shown on blog homepage?

How many article you place on your blog homepage and why?
I prefer to place about 2-3 article on my blog homepage because i don't like to find my blog homepage is shown many article but have empty sidebar and can be scrolled down too long.

I place 2-3 article because it's not too long and my sidebar will not looked empty, with 2-3 article i think to place some banner, advertising, link, and some widget will make the sidebar look full

well its depend on articles lengh

if they are toomuch lengthy then not more then 2 or just 50 lines articles then 10 are good

Hey 50 lines article is so long, if you put 10 article, then there will be 500 line on your homepage. Do you think it's too long?

Well I too agree with you. I am also showing only 2-3 posts in my homepage.
I heard from some blogger that showing only 1 posts is best one because it will show the related adsense ads. why because there will be only 1 post and ads will shown only related to the content shown. So there will be more chance of getting clicks in ads.

I display just one article on my home page, and others go as a list at the end of the page.

It depends on the style of template. Magazine style ones can get away with far more than a usual 2 or 3 column one. I think about 5 is max if you use the read more, and you should always balance the length of your articles with what's in your sidebar. In other words, your sidebar content shouldn't stop a third of the way down the articles listed. Add more widgets if need be to expand that.

no one can decide it before deciding the article's length....
