Please review my site, let me know what you think, and feel free to give suggestions on how I can make it better and more attractive. Also, how can I go about advertising it? Anyone here (especially those who created sites before) know any good tips on getting my forum known?

Man so many things wrong there.

1. You're using SMF's default theme
2. The logo
3. .co.nr
4. Most Online Ever: 10

What I would recommend if you're thinking of going big and advertising your site.

1. At least get a custom SMF theme that fits the content (dunno 007 theme?)
2. Pay or redesign your whole logo to at least get it to fit/match your site, sorry but that looks like it was done in paint.
3. By a domain name ($5-10)
4. Advertise it a lot. Submit it to google. Post it on forums(I guess you are already doing that), tell your friends, whatever, just let people know that it exists.

Well I hope you don't take this offensively but rather use it as a way to get better.

One question: What's wrong with .co.nr? That's a domain!

As for the default theme, it will have to remain that way. It is extremely hard installing upgrades on the custom themes. Whenever I install an upgrade, it only installs it to the default theme. Which means, I have to manually install ALL upgrades to the custom theme I set up. Besides, I've seen MANY forums where they use the SMF default theme and still end up successful.

I hate to sound ignorant, but I think the trouble is that my website isn't getting known no matter what I do. I already did everything, such as submit it to search engines etc. I don't know what else to do.

Thats the hard part...coming up with a topic or set of topics that people will wan't to log into every day to discuss. You wan't to keep it general and do some google searching to see if there isn't already too much competition out there.

A great idea is to create a forum long before you know the topic will be popular (so you have no competition, and you can make it to the top of google searches). An example of this would be creating a forum about starcraft 3, which probably isn't coming out for another 5-10 years, but when it does come near to coming out you will be at the top of search results because you have been there for so long!

Thank you so much! That really was helpful. It even gave me a great idea. When a new TV show comes out, I will create a forum on it before the first episode even airs. That definitely should do the trick provided that the show becomes popular.
