Looks pretty nice, I like the fact that color scheme as its easy on the eyes. Much props, did you design it yourself?

    Thanks!

I did not. All credit is given in footers of the pages. Allthough I have revised it a bit from it's default style.

Did you find the home page easy to understand? It's a new look I'm trying so all feedback is definitely appreciated

I personally like it... however I think you should ad more categories for forum niches.

    Thanks!

I thought I would start with what's there and as a niche starts to form in the Misc catgory I'll add it as a full category.

I like the idea, KahneFan. Just out of curiosity, what happens if for example you were to go and post on someone's forum and they didn't return the favor? Do you give them a time limit to reciprocate or something like that?

No, there's really no recourse for someone who does not return the favor at this point. It's all on the honor system right now. However, I do have a trader rating system added on (similar to eBay feedback) and you can leave negative/neutral feedback as well as positive. Plus, you can respond to the thread stating that no reposts were returned then others can see that and know not to post on that person's forum.

I'm trying to work on a decent Karma type system so that you can easily +/- someone's rep. I'm just worried people may abuse that though.

Thanks for the speedy response. I was just wondering. Probably 99% of them would do it right anyway. I have mixed feelings about Karma systems. While on the one hand I like them because for a new person it helps them see who to trust (hopefully) and on the other hand, the information could be misleading or outdated. I guess it's like anything else whether online or off. It takes time to build a reputation either good or bad but people soon catch on as to what you're really like without even looking at reps.

There's no way to know unless you try, KahneFan and I think it sounds like you've got it covered. How do you plan to draw traffic, any thoughts on that yet?

I don't have much of a budget... like $0 at this point , but I've advertised on Google and will try Yahoo and MSN next. I've also posted a link just about everywhere I can without spamming places. SMF knows about my board, but since I don't use other programs, I don't feel it's right to advertise on their boards. Now if someone who was a member of those sites were to drop a link...

Any other thoughts on how to get the word out?

I've been open for about 6 weeks, have 987 posts and 67 members, decent start?
