Today I want to share one of my serious blunder and there is a very important advice for my fellow web-masters.
People learn by mistakes and we can learn allot by daily life. There are certain important things we do not care and they may lead us to a serious failure.

I have number of websites and on-line ventures, one of them is selling digital products and involve real money transactions with real profit. Because of huge size of website I never took backups and always relied on my hosting company knowing that there are many cases where web hosts failed to provide healthy backups and few horror stories where online companies went off-line because of data failures.

I never thought this could happen to me. and thanks God I was lucky it didn't!

One morning playing with my scripts I have accidentally deleted all my business accounts including transaction details. I got alerts on emails for few errors. When I searched the details, I found that all my client accounts are deleted along with transaction and other important business details. All this happened with one click that executed a wrong script in wrong way.

Oh my my! I was almost lost!

I had no backups, not a single backup at my PC to restore my files. I was feeling very low and nearly to faint, I can't tell you my condition at that time. I was almost lost, as all my business data and my clientele details were gone. I seriously realized the importance of backup and real worth of business data. This was a really serious blunder by me.

Anyway, the next step in these cases is to approach your web hosting company and ask them if they have any backup. I was lucky and very happy to find my backup saved at my web hosting backup server. I got a reply to “hold on” and as usual the smart guys at ShopaServer were ready to restore my backup.

Phew!


I was really happy and thanks God my business was saved else you can't imagine what could have happened to me and my online venture.
