  1. #1

    Default is the domain co.cc

i'm trying to register a free account and so the webhosting suggest me to also sign up in co.cc to use just their name servers.

is the co.cc domain search engine friendly?

No, all freebies domain is not good for SEO. It's better to use paid domain such .com

i've been searching for co.cc domain that's been on top too and seen some.
no one have ever discuss about this domain and the tweaks to get on top.

i guess i'll have to register a .com domain.

    thanks

I'm a bigger fan of .com's but with that said I don't think the tld plays a big part if any in your SERP.

It is better to have your own domain in case you want to move your site or it gets shut down then all of the hard work will be wasted.
