Hello,
I just bought a vps server from virpus a less than 72 hours ago and I have less than 7 shoutcast servers running at low bitrate with no more than 10 listeners evened out on them and now they say I have used over 5000GB Bandwidth? What is going on here seems like a scam.

Camron: My friend knows how to edit the config file for bandwidth overages since he is cheating his customers, he has acess to my vps maby he did it?

Kenneth O.: Your VPS is the only one that isnt started right now. Right after I stopped it, there was a dramatic decrease.

Camron: It is virtual impossible to have this happen since I am only hosting a few very small shoutcast servers

Nick R.: how many shoutcast listeners do you have? at how many kbps each?

Camron: Lets see

Camron: The only big one I have is bluestarfm which is broadcasting at 64kbps and about 40 listeners, the rest is about 1-20 listeners at 54kbps.

Camron: Only 7 total about.

Nick R.: 20 x 7 x 54kbps

Camron: 7MB?

Camron: Only running for about 3 days?

Nick R.: Do you understand how bandwidth is distributed?

Camron: Not really but I am just very careful about using it.

Camron: I watch bandwidth like a hawk thats why I make sure I am not going to go over, but 3kGB is very rediculous.

My friend knows how to edit bandwidht logs in directadmin and he cheats his customers. he has acess to my vps, maby he did this? Maby you should ask the datacenter if w ereally used this much instead of looking at logs.

Camron: Thats fine, But still I would like to request a refund. I only purchased 3 days ago and any item sold in the usa purchased within 72 hours can be refunded exactly stated by the government

Taht really sucks Thats why I always stick to free hosts. You don't get any of this scam rubbish. Maybe in the furture just try stickig with te main hoster with great reputations such as GoDaddy etc.

I hope this doesn't happen to you again and hopefully this host will either get shut down, or explain if there was some problem with their server os something.

I would suggest posting it on other webmaster forums see if anyone contacts you saying they have also have problems. Remember don't lost your temper the moment you lose your temper you will miss key facts and lose

HEhe im too young to be a lawyer and i think that this would be a great idea . If you ask people to help around some forums well you'll have some great help !

heh, 18 year old having a 10 years of experiance and has his own company. Lol, you just got scammed by an 18 year old kid. I always try to host on reputed servers like sagonet.com or something. He changed the fake value of 700gb/m to 5,500 gb. But thier site seems pretty convincing enough to fool anyone.

Yea i don't like to go on someone's site that isn't even reputative or how ever you say that . Maybe you can get out of this and print out this conversation and maybe have a record of it and try to do whatever you can to give them the chilli they deserve

thats why i prefer reputable host provider and on my List i always prefer hosting from Globat.com & Bluehost.com they can never cheat us like that , even though they maybe costly but they guarentee you good service, without unpredicted account suspends or so.

P.S - i dunno if we can link to other hostsites i mean like i have linked globat and blue host ,i am sorry if its against rules.

Its alright providing there is no referal link and they don't offer the same services as us. ie Posting for hosting/domains etc

Also I might be looking to pay for hosting so if you say these host are reputable I might try them

Hmm i have no idea of what are good but if you are part of INSTANTPROFITZ then they have offers that make you sign up for hosting which you have to pay for so you can check that out
