What type of Hosting do you prefer , Linux or windows?

I am planning to get hosting for my website. I would like to know which type of hosting do you suggest me , should I go for windows hosting or linux hosting?

I use Linux hosting because it is less expensive and the only reason why I would need Windows hosting is if needed .asp which I don't.

I would definitely go for linux hosting. You don't have to pay extra for the licensing and linux typically needs way less ressources than windows. Put another way, if you're thinking about a dedicated server you'll be able to run more at the same time on a linux server with the same specs as a windows server!

Linux is best for newbie coz it support main programing language inclusing PHP and ASP

it all depends on what you really need the hosting to do, if you needed a linux only script running get linux and vice versa with windows but i would also look at is your buying a server then going for windows could turn out a bad idea as you might need to change your website to run with your hosting.

Well if u have have extra money than you should go for windows otherwise Linux is the best because it is less expensive.

ofcourse linux server is best, and you can do many things with linux server as its most cheapest one, compare to windowns server. so i like linux hosting.
