More so because the vps companies offer these fully managed which would mean low cost server available to any one who want to run a web hosting business, whereas most of companies offering reseller hosting just suck their resellers.

Was there really money in offering reseller accounts to begin with? Since a couple of successful resellers could deplete the resources on a server easily, how do companies make money when they are offering reseller accounts for $19.95 a month? Unless they are grossly overselling and overloading their servers, there just isn't any profit in it. Which is why we don't even bother with a reseller plan.

I think a reseller suites to the one offering reseller hosting only when he is in very early days of his business and take considerable time, may be couple of years to build his business and customer base.
