I've been looking around for a webhost and I found Hostgator, which seems to have a good deal. I'm thinking about going for the plan that is $4.95 per month. It offers 300GB Space and 3000GB bandwidth. It seems like a good deal to me, but does anyone know how reliable they are, or if I can find a better host?

Try not to take the reviews of others to seriously. Many of these sites have referral/affiliate programs, and people will try to push unsuspecting users into signing up for a particular service, only to reap the benefits for themselves.

I don't believe Hostgator's 4.95 plan is suitable, since the 350 GB amount is truly only there for visual appeal. A host will not want to continue business with a customer that's actually taking up 350 GB on their server. Additionally, notice that you cannot add parked or addon domains (therefore, no additional sites except subdomains of whatever you sign up with).

Try to consider these things when looking at hosts, especially hosts that offer seemingly impossible amounts. When it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I have heard many negative feedbacks about their activity but I'm not sure thay are true-to-life. Try them to get to know it for sure.

It's difficult to say for sure what the host is if only you tried them.
