Default Guide to making a web 2.0 Logo

Hello, we will be making a logo using Photoshop and then creating a "refletion effect".
This is very easy to do and can be achieved in some simple steps.
The final result is a web 2.0 looking professional logo.
We will be using wdzine as an example here is the final result:

    1. Start by making a new document. I prefer 500px x 200px.

    2. Fill the background with some dark color. I used #1c1c1c.

    3. Write wdzine. Make sure that you write "wd" first and then "zine" separate. Try separating them just a tiny bit by using ctrl and dragging. I used the font Impact, which looks good for a web 2.0 font. I used 50pt for the size. Set the style to strong. Set white as the default color. Here are the results:

    4. Now you want to add a style for wd. Right click the wd text layer and select Blending Options.

    We add a simple overlay:

    We also add 1px stroke:

    And here's what we get:

    5. Now let's add a style for zine.

    Add overlay:

    Add stroke:

    Result:

    6. We will now add what I think is a kind of a glare.

Select "wd" and then click the new layer button.

Select the Elliptical Marquee Tool and Make a horizontal oval with the top of the oval near the middle of "wd". Fill that with white (#FFFFFF). Then press Ctrl and click on the little T image near "wd" and it should be selected. Here's what you should have:

Now that you have that do this in order: Press Ctrl+Shift+I and everything should be selected. Now press the delete key. Then select the Elliptical Marquee Tool, right click the canvas and click on deselect. Here's what you should now have:

    7. Now do that exact same thing with "zine" except when you use the Elliptical Marquee Tool, try to match the oval with the pattern on "wd". After doing this, you should have this:

    8. Change the opacity of both new layers that we just made. For the layer over "wd" I changed the opacity to 20 and the layer over "zine" to 40. Here's what you should get:

    9. We will now create a reflection for "wd".
Select "wd" right click it and select Duplicate Layer. Name it as "wdreflection". Go to Edit --> Transform --> Flip Vertical. Drag "wdreflection" right below the regular "wd". Here's the result:

    10. Do the exact same thing with "zine" and here's what it should look like now:

    11. Now we will add a gradient to "wd" to make it look more like a reflection.
Start by Right clicking on "wdreflection" and selecting Blending Options. Unselect stroke.

Now we will add the following gradient to "wdreflection":

Now change the opacity of the layer. Play around with it to get the right results. I used 30% as the opacity. Here's what I got:

    12. Now we will do the same for the "zinereflection". Again uncheck the stroke.
    Here's the gradient we need:

Now change the opacity of "zinereflection" to 50% and here's what you should get:

Well that's all and you have a good looking web 2.0 logo with a reflection. Thanks for reading this tut!
