Just want to tell that when I click on "TOP POSTERS" or "TOP REFERRS" it signs me off of the forum. And when I try to login again it says that you are logged in but not logged in.
I have to close GGT and open again and it works fine then.,
Is this a problem or ??

Yea, it's the mySQL database, it happens when the server is too busy, I receive an email everytime that occurs, don't worry, I have just received my dedicated server information and we'll be moving soon, after we launched our other two sites.

    Thanks.

Default Creating a cool logo - tutorial

I recently saw someone saying that they will post a tutorial on creating a cool web 2.0 logo. But the still has not posted the tutorial so I decided to learn it myself and share it with you guys. The design is absolutely amazing and the most important thing is that it is one of the simplest things I have done on Photoshop. Any beginner can easily do this if they at least know how to vary the opacity. Yes it is that simple and amazingly effective.

The final logo will look like this:

    Step 1
First of all, open up a new photoshop document of dimensions: 640 by 680. Then fill the background with black. You can use other backgrounds but with the colors that I am going to use for the text, black is the best choice. This step is pretty simple.

    Step 2
Now, you want to type the text that you want to be presented as the logo. Use some text that has two words or that can be easily divided in two parts such as "WDzine "PTCdollars". I used "PTC Dollars" for my text. The color of the text can be anything right now as long as it is visible. We will be changing the colors later. Make sure you use a good thick font for the text. You should have this now:

    Step 3
Now we need to add some color to the text. You want to use some really bright colors such as green, orange, yellow, light blue etc to make the text standout on the black background. Also, you want to use two different colors for the two parts of the text. In my example, I am going to use orange for "PTC" and light blue for "dollars". This is what you should have now:

    Step 4
Now we need to add some cool effect to the text. First of all, simply create a duplicate layer of the text and HIDE it. Then continue to work with the original layer.

Now create an eclipse so that it covers half of the text and half of the empty space below. Create a new layer and fill the eclipse in white. Then set the layer's blending mode to OVERLAY and change the opacity to 30%. You can play around with the opacity to suit yourself. Here is what the image should look like:

    Step 5
Now we have to add the cool reflection. Make the previous text layer visible and click transform it vertically so that it is upside down. Now bring it downwards. The image should look like this:

    Step 5
First of all, rasterize your reflection layer by right clicking on the layer and then selection RASTERIZE TYPE. Now we have to get rid of some part of the reflection. You can do that by deleting some part of it using an Elliptical marquee tool and feathers. Basically select the part that you want to delete using the elliptical marquee tool and then press CTRL+ALT+D. Then enter a value around 25. Now press delete. You should have something like this.

You can play around and add some other shapes to the logo to make it more attractive. Here is another version:

I hope you guys like this tutorial. It is really easy to make and very good looking too. If you did not understand a step then please let me know and I will explain it to you. I am not an expert at giving tutorials so sometimes I skip ahead or I forget some important details. However, I am sure that I did a good job explaining this tutorial.

    Thanks.
