Thread: What is the difference sitemap.xml and sitemap.html ?

    In everyone's opinion, XML sitemap it's a MUST, if you don't have it, then you don't want to be indexed by SEs. Also, the existence of a HTML sitempa provide to the SEs that you're more oriented to usability and functionality features => your visitors are more 'happy' when visiting your website/blog.

    I use XML. that one can download free.

    sitemap.xml is the one to be submitted in search engines to inform them about your site that is available for crawling so that your site will get indexed. On the other hand, adding a sitemap.html page on your site will be helpful for your visitors to easily navigate on your site.
