I believe your current theme is too simple. The new theme has impressive background, however try improving your site layout and design.

The site is very nice and differnt no doubt. Its stars effect also look good. Page load in seconds again not bad
but site look quite incomplete in first apperience but over all it is good site with loads of nice expression in it.

you should remove the background image in the new theme it is taking heck of a time to load even after having my 2mbps speed broadband
actually i am liking the current theme more and recommend you not to change it
