Thread: Page Rank

  1. #1

    Page Rank

Will the page rank of my site reduce if I have a back link on a site having a lower page rank compared to my site?

And will the rank of a site having lower PR increase if it has a back link on a site with higher PR.

I think backlinks from lower PR sites would not have negative impact on your PR. On the contrary, they would also helpful for your PR.

No but it'll help if it's relevant to your site. A backlink is a backlink though.

It doesn't matter if your backlink comes from low or high PR site. What matters with Google is how many backlinks you have to support your site.

It doesn't matter from which PR site you are getting backlink. Google just checks how much backlinks you have an then they Page Rank to your site.

Yes lower site PR Backlinks will not affect you until your site is relevant to the site giving backlink.

Page rank (PR) drops because some of the links are deleted, ban or devalued.

Nope. Your site won't be affected much if it's only one. You'll be worried if you have too much outgoing links.

Low PR links will not have much impact on your site PR

    PR

It will not make much difference i think.
Search Engines use page ranking algorithm to define your sites PR.
Based on that algorithm only ur PR is defined.
All search engines use different algorithm to calculate PR.

    Hello guys

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm, named after Larry Page,[1] used by the Google Internet search engine that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of "measuring" its relative importance within the set. The algorithm may be applied to any collection of entities with reciprocal quotations and references. The numerical weight that it assigns to any given element E is also called the PageRank of E and denoted by PR(E).

The name "PageRank" is a trademark of Google, and the PageRank process has been patented (U.S. Patent 6,285,999). However, the patent is assigned to Stanford University and not to Google. Google has exclusive license rights on the patent from Stanford University. The university received 1.8 million shares of Google in exchange for use of the patent; the shares were sold in 2005 for $336 million.

    Thanks for all friends
