A great example of a scripb is vBulletin. That is the script that this board runs on. When you click post reply, or new topic it is all done trough using a script in the language PHP.

I think more than the meta tags, what matters more for SEO are search-engine friendly URLs and the links to your site. For the SE-friendly URLs, you can use mod_rewrite, so that your urls will not be like domain.com/index.php?id=domains&page=2 but will be like domain.com/domains/2 which will be picked up easier by the SEs.

Regarding links, these are what will determine your Page Rank, so try to get as many high PR websites to link to you as possible.

Meta tags are important too, but it's a myth that only meta tags should be optimized for good SEO results.
