Search engines regard each version of article spinning as a unique article, when submitted to article directories it's important to have unique articles so that they are each indexed. Submitting articles builds your readership as well as link backs which means simple MORE TRAFFIC. More traffic equates to more sales, simple.

I don't think so, but much better to rephrase the content the article than using articler spinner. I believe rephrasing the content is effective in Search Engine ranking than using article spinner.

It is not a black hat technique, and it is actually better than copying exactly the article and submit to article directories. But the problem with article spinning is you are creating worse article.
