Submitting your site to different search engine work..?

people says that submission of site to different search enginr kelp to get god ranking .i am not agree with that .What is your opinion ..?

it helps a lot. i don't beleive this could help too back when i was just starting. and thought adding those links and buttons of these directories make your site look trashy but you can actually add a page intended for those reciprocal links.

after doing so, my site gained pr everytime google updates it.

Submitting search engine is a great way to build traffic to a site. It helps to build links to our site. It thereby increases our site ranking.

I don't think it is necessary to submit to any search engines even Google these days. All search engines would indexed your sites via links to your sites. Of course, a sitemap submission would be really helpful in deep indexed.

not,.... I only submit to primary directory, like google yahoo and msn, most of other directory just came from google search

I agree with you submitting site to search engine can help you to build free traffic but for getting page rank you have build quality backlinks

as per my experience, you dont really need to submit your site to search engines. If you have quality content, the bots will visit your site and crawl it and put it in their index.
