i dont think that makes any big changes in your site position..rather than this try to submit your site on some good pr site you will automatically indexed in the seach engine...

You don't need to. If you want to get your site indexed fast the easiest way to do it is as follows:

Ping your page and RSS feed
Submit your RSS feed to aggregators
Submit your page to social bookmarking sites

That will get your pages indexed fast. On sites that are established I can get pages indexed in a 2-12 hours. On new sites it takes me up to a few days sometimes. I have noticed that posts in wordpress seem to get indexed faster than pages.

Yes i agree with this method "Ping your page and RSS feed" it is one of a fastest method to get indexed in Search Engines.
