    How can we make our site search friendly design i.e. easy for the Search Engines to read and index?

    The SEO Friendly Website Design List...

    The following list, organized by importance - from most important to least important (but still important), covers all of the basic (and some of the more advanced) methods to effectively and efficiently optimize your website design for SEO:

    * don't use Flash (and how to survive if you absolutely must use it)
    * don't use frames (and how to survive if you absolutely must use them)
    * the foundation of the foundation: keyword research
    * researched keywords in andlt;titleandgt; tag
    * researched keywords in URL (filenames and folders)
    * CSS drop down navigation (no Javascript or Flash); CSS stylesheets
    * density of researched keywords in document text; don't hide text
    * researched keywords in anchor text (the text that contains a hyperlink)
    * researched keywords in headings andlt;H1andgt;, andlt;H2andgt;, andlt;H3andgt; etc.
    * images (including researched keywords in 'alt' tags, no text in images)

    Also the content of your website should be coded in HTML so that the search engines can read it. If you create your site in Flash or include PDF documents on it, then the search engines won't be able to see the text—which means that they won't understand what your site is about.

    Add a sitemap to your site. It lets google know where all the pages are so it can index them.

    I think adding sitemap is advantage to your site. And search engine will index according to it.

    I think content is still the king, meaning the best seo tactic. I have seen some sites not having any great design but they have good content and they are well ranked on the serps.

    Include h1 and h2 tags in your design when developing a site design with SEO in mind. Some people say this doesn't matter, but in my personal experience, they have helped with my search engine rankings.

    ravishanker thats a good list but why did you put Flash in you list?

    SE friendly design doesn't mean you can ignore it at all...simplicity is good and let your visitor's eyes comfortable to stay long enough
