Blog posts get indexed far faster than website pages. You can watch just how fast by setting yourself up a Google Blog Alert, selecting a key phrase from the post and putting it in inverted commas then just waiting for the notification of it to drop in your inbox.

Depending on the timing of your post, it can be within minutes rather than hours or days. Fastest I've seen with one of my own was about 17 minutes from posting it to getting the Google Alert.

If you've never set up one, I gave a step -by- step guide on how to set up a Google Alert, with screenshots, in this post. Hope that helps!

Please press the "Thanks" Button in posts you like, don't post to say "Thanks".

Blogs are more SEO-friendly than a webpage coded in HTML, so it indexes faster.

    It's blog.

Well as far as I know wordpress blogs has pinging service (pingomatic) that notifies 40+ top websites that your blog is updated with new fresh content. Soon you will find search engine bots & RSS feeder coming to your blog to index your content.

Being a blog post or static page is not the major factor in determining how fast it will index. On and off site SEO is the major determining factor.

Blogs are pretty popular with Google especially blogger. In my experience, building a blogger blog [which in itself gets indexed within 24 to 48 hours if set p properly] and then adding a link to your site from the blog works pretty well
