Yes.. I personally use blogging to build up my links, can' say i get much traffic from the blog links however after time I find that my main SERPS go up and I get the main traffic for that... So in short, I use blogging to build up my main serps.

when blog commenting dont use your website name. Use the keywords you are trying to rank for.
