Do we need SEO?

I saw lots of sites being number one without SEO. What do you thing about this? Do we still need SEO?

SEO alone won't count. The content on your website matters a lot i guess. I saw a person, who started a website about a bot. This guy just kept updating daily.. and within a month, with absolutely NO ADVERTISING, NO SEOing, he got over 20k hits PER DAY! Now that's luck. It's content that matters after all i guess. Google indexes pretty fast.

Thats a pretty awesome achievement based off of just fresh content, but as far as I was always concerned unique content is a BIG part of SEO probably one of the biggest aspects in my opinion. My guess is this guy hit a good niche, if it were a very targeted niche I still believe you would need other SEO applied to the site to maintain serps for traffic.

If you create a website because you actually have something to create a website about, then you should eventually get a good page ranking with or without SEO. If you decide to make a website to make money, then you run into some trouble. If you have true content on your site, then you shouldn't have many problems.

Well everything is part of the seo - no matter if you do it on purpuse or not Anything you do reflects on your website ranking in google's eyes either in bad in good ways :P

well i think seo is important for ranking and only ranking is not SEO, SEO Contains many more activities to maintain and promote site threw sem and ppc. if your business have high capitation on line, you need seo.

SEO is highly important for sites that depends on online business activities. With correct optimized SEO, they used to get high traffic as well as more clients to their sites. For that case SEO are quite invaluable. Further SEO also needs constant updates in order to stay top on the page rankings as other sites too would go for SEO techniques and that would create a quite bit of competition.

about there is a site which have a big hit without SEO and advertising but only by updating a content, it's not strange. Maybe the content is so good and many people looking for it. But i think if it's mixed with SEO and advertise, the hit will be increased dramatically

Well those web has good amount of visitors like orkut or face book they does not need any kind of SEO got they archive their objectives

we should always pay attention to SEO methods in order for us to be successful, it can help our website to be in the first list of google, and this will surely increase traffic.

SEO is just an added method for you to get links. Even if you do it or not, it's up to you. But if you want to get more links then you should also do this together with doing the qulity content for your website.
