What was the first search engine ever made?

I was wondering what the first search engine was that people could actually use. I found this information on Wikipedia but it didn't say which web address the search engine was on.

i think the first search engine is yahoo search engine. Do you think so? It's launched before google founded. or at least, yahoo is the first search engine "i ever know" :P

It's Yahoo! I suppose. not quite sure, but read somewhere. Google came much later.
