    Default Preference in SEO terms for URL file extension?

    You can use .html, .htm, .asp, .php, etc as your URL file extension.
    I wanted to ask if search engines prefer one of these over others.

    It doesn't matter the URL file extension as long as that webpage have HTML code.

    I think extension name is not a big issue in terms of seo as those are recognizable by spiders.

    Any type of url file extension as long as Google bot recognize the HTML code in a web page.

    Google bot also recognized a CSS code inside of a web page.

    There is no advantages and disadvantages of url file extension in SEO.

    To the best of my knowledge, it does not make any difference whatsoever.

    Their is advantange on any extension you use. The think you should check is the domain name (you can use keywords inside) and the code of you webpage (it has to be seo friendly).

    HTML code and CSS code are SEO friendly. These two code are can crawl by Search Engine bot.
