no latest seo techniques so far, and I believe directory submission and link exchange are still a good link building technique and can still help your search engine rankings considerably. Article Submission is really effective, social bookmarking too, they can drive traffic and help search engine ranking. Forum posting is also good source of backlinks. Social Networking like twitter or facebook, can also be used for promotional purposes thus it generates traffic.
