Press release or article submission?

Both press release and article submission are the basic ways to do general marketing. Which one do you prefer? Or do you confuse them?

Press Release and article are definately different each other. I would say Press Release is a lot more powerful than articles, however, if you have some writing skills, you should do the articles and submit to the article sites that drive traffics.

Both are equally important in seo. Like whenever you have launch any new product, new service or starting new business at that time press release is very effective thing for marketing and Article submission is more useful for infromation purpose and also for getting back links.

According to me press release is better way to announce information regarding to your site and article submission is helpful to share information on any topic but article submission gives better results for long time.

I think article marketing is better.The reason is that their are few free press release websites as compared to article directory.Press release is for new website announcement.So submitting 2 to 3 press release is ok.

why do you have to choose if both can be beneficial for you...

Literally article websites (often called article directories) like goarticles, ezine, articlecity and press release websites like bignews, press release centre, pr inside etc are the same. Everything we do is the same in fact. Both can bring traffic and good backlinks.
