As this section seems rather new I thought I'd be an annoying smartypants and point out something rather important...
That there is a distinction between general writing, and "copywriting". Copywriting is the production of sales "copy", or text (as opposed to graphics and other such elements).
General articles, blog posts or "content" is a whole 'nother animal from sales copy. Content writers can be hired from fees of around 2 cents a word, or even less. If you want a non-native English speaker to cobble together some barely intelligble text it can be a lot less.
Actual copywriters charge fees typically in the low thousands, sometimes in the higher hundreds (like me).
Not every site is suitable for a copywriter. For a start you need fairly high traffic to make the investment worthwhile, with some products needing nothing more than a basic technical description, such as blank CDs.
It would be nice if a separate forum could be established for content writing, as opposed to copywriting?
