Thread: Why call "racist" when someone disagrees with Obama?

Default Why call "racist" when someone disagrees with Obama?

This video and others made by the same group will give insight to the thinking behind what some of the posters here think. So when you don't like Obama's policies or even his rhetoric and you get called a racist, you don't have to be confused any longer by the attacks.

My thoughts on the video - oh wow, there are others that actually think this way? But I also see the video in reverse of what they tried to portray. There are those out there doing just the opposite and vilifying everyone who disagrees with the One, the great Obama.

People like to take the easy way out sometimes. Calling someone a racist because they don't agree with someone who is black is just...easy.

It doesn't matter what color the skin is. If he is a horrible president, it isn't because of the color of his skin. If he does the right thing, it isn't because of his race. People need to stop worrying about skin color and more about what the person is like.

Since the Civil Rights movement of the 50's and 60's in the US, at least, it's been the "fashion" among African-Americans {or whatever the correct PC label is now} to call whites racist whenever we happen to disagree with them, regardless of the basis for such disagreement. It's a "power" card played whenever they don't get their way. In some few cases, there is racism involved, but not the majority of the instances so labelled.,

I think western nations have forgotten what racism actually is, where I live certain nationalities can live and work here, BUT, they are not allowed to own a car or bike, there is talk of allowing them a driving license but the arguement against that is that it would be dangerous as they are used to driving on the other side of the road.

They are not allowed to own a mobile phone, they are not allowed to meet in groups of 5 or more, they are not allowed out of their province/state unless they have a letter of permission from their employer, you want to see racism try Asia, you want to see sexism, try the middle east.

Racism is any form of prejudice between people or groups thereof, based on the races of the people involved. It isn't restricted to any one race, all are guilty presently, or have been in their histories, of some form of racist behaviors, although not necessarily all members of any one race participated in racist behaviors. We haven't forgotten. Many of us simply try to not practice it. Sexism is an issue for another thread.

Yet we don't because we haven't revolutionized yet.

The sad but true fact is that while interracial violence and conflict had tapered off over the past 20 or so years in the US. until Obama took office, HE has quite deliberately set "races" against each other, as well as "religions" and any other dividing factor he can find: money, gender, political leanings, everything, so that the potential for hate violence is greater in the US right now than it has been since the decade leading up to our Civil War in the early 1860s, and I very much fear it will be spilling out very soon, far worse that is being seen in Europe now.
