At the OP, I used to feel odd in church too until I realized that I would never find god in a church. I find it easier to say I dont know than to say you are wrong.

God is outside the chuch, in the streets, inside the prison, or dying on a hospital bed. God is everywhere. God is usually found to the places you less expect. When the time is right for you, God will reveal himself to you. Don't worry about what you belive, just be happy and relaxed with your life and everything will go the right way.

Remember Charles Darwin, he was an atheist once. But on the Latter part of his life, he admitted that there is a God.
