The 3 best PPC companies to use with/without Adsense are:
1.Vibrant Media (best of the 3, must have 500,000 page views per month to get accepted)
2.Infolinks
3.Kontera

Don't waste your time with Adbrite or Bidvertiser. Revenue made with any of these companies will depend on:
Amount of traffic
Traffic Origin
Niche

with adsense you cannot put any other similar network ad, such as adbrite or advertiser, I don't think you can do that, but you may want check, other options will be like CPA, CPM or CPV

No one is better than Adsense, but you can try clickbank affiliate program, if you can write good enough you can sell your articles on freelancing website, if you have a million views a month from US, UK, you can try, adbrite, infolinks, bidvertiser, also you can put ads from BUYNSELL website...

I believe Google Adsense is the simplest way to earn money online, you can successfully monetize any affiliate money making or Advertising program, you just need to do it right. I still imagine ad sense is the mellowest PPC programs among all others programs. The other PPC that also campaigning well is publicist and ad brite.
