I want to buy few forum signatures on various webmaster forums, what do you think are signature links on forum useful?

It can be very usefull, especially when a person is reputable on particular forum, it can get you a lot of traffic. Even avatars can make you good - I saw a bunch of members (1000+ posts) putting the same avatar. You cant not to notice that.

*As many said above, if you are purchasing link from a member of a forum, see to that if he'll stay in that community actively and also expertise in the related topic.

*There are many forums I have seen which has set its forum links as no dofollow links. If you purchase links in these forums, that may be helpful for you to drive traffic, but won't be useful for indexing and link building.
