One of the best ways to build links and bring traffic is by posting your link in the comments section of other related blogs.

Okay I'm not talking about spamming, but placing your link in the your website section. has anyone had traffic coming in

through this method?

that doesn't helps in referral traffic as such but helps to make back links. I tried that.

Most people do not make much of an effort with that method. The comment usually consists of a few words for example, nice post etc, etc. If they offer something to the post they are commenting on it is more likely it will be published. As far as traffic goes, it is going to be minimal.

Most of the blogs have no-follow nowadays. A good tool to use is sitescraper (cant remember if the names right). It scan over a subject and gives you dofollow blogs you can post on. Pretty useful seriously.
