First off, make everything except for the finished product a link.

    Secondly, the LP itself:
The overall image isn't bad, but it lacks any real atmosphere, and the render doesn't feel like a part of the scene completely. Try using gradient maps to make the scene more complete, and add some texture to the walls and floor and ceiling to give the scene some grittiness.

What do you mean by link?

what he means is I had the render and background as images and it was too big,, so I made them a link as he requested

You may have used a dozen gradient maps, I never said you didn't. I said to use them to make everything blend together more. Right now the color scheme of the render is different from the color scheme of the background, just in terms of slight variations in hue in the light and dark parts. Note that the background has more of a yellowish tint to the lighting, which would make the blues and purples of the render slightly greener/browner.

Also, thinking about it, something could be said about possibly having blurred the background too much, sharpening the render too much, and the disparity that creates to the eye.

there was no sharpen done to this piece, the "blurriness" to the back ground was a gaussian blur on a setting of 1...that isn't too much

It's not too much, no, but what it does is it gives the render and the background starkly different values of definition that makes the two look like they just don't mesh.

Impressive Bry! First, let me say that Draven did a incredible job with that render!

I think i understand what Depression is talking about. I had to look at it again and study it bit imo, the light coming in is a pretty good amount and even though you have the light and shadows on the render looking great, this much light would warrant some ambient light in the scene. This would def help to mesh everything. imho

Great work either way..think i may rethink the size of my canvas..lol you can do so much more on larger sizes.
