Are you planning to host your website on your computer? Thats a very bad idea. Get a free host if you can't buy hosting. Most hosts offer fantastico where you can install joomla with two clicks.

He's referring to how to install joomla and you should visit the official joomla site for documation. I poked around and managed to find this http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/do...ersion_0.4.pdf
It always helps to go to the main site and look around for help files.

    You'll need to install php/apache/mysql.
Lampp or Xampp are good for that (lampp is linux, xampp is windows), then once thats done run the install.php fille.

Well, Hostbidder told you to move to an appropriate forum. But anyway, i'll answer your question.
If you want to host Joomla on your own server, you gotta install many sick stuff (recommended only to Pros).

Another way is to host it on some free web hosting sites. I recommend zymic.com.

Then, follow this tutorial in this link.
You can start with the "Installing Joomla through a Web Browser" section.

    Cool For Joomla! installation help...

    Dear brothers,
Nothing is more complete than the original source of Joomla! itself. I meant the (joomla.org) website for the documentation. But I want to say that for turning your Dell into a personal server, if you are running any windows, the best software to use is: WAMP, that stands for (Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
You can easily download the lates version from searching for (wamp download) in google
If you need more better information, just contact me: yasirelsadig@yahoo.com. Please write in the subject: (The Required Help on Joomla) to give you a quick response of high quality.
