    Hi,
Most of my friends told me that they recommend me to use joomla, which is I don't really understand why. I have tried both, but to me Wordpress is more user friendly and easy to do some change, even for novice like me.

You can't really compare both though they may be of the same use, if you're into blogging use Wordpress, if you want to build a website using a Content Management System (CMS), use Joomla.

I would recommend Wordpress. It is easy to operate, and well, even noobs could use the plugins to expand the functionality of the website. I mean, the enhancing of its functionality is way easy when it comes to plugins. Ease of modification, easy changing of themes, etc. All make it better than joomla!

I would go with Joomla. It looks like it is better. Plus, Wordpress is only for blogging. Unless your site is a blog, I wouldn't go with Wordpress.

I prefer joomla to wordpress because it has more functions.
And I use it for 2 years on my own webpage.

As some one has already pointed out to you on this, there are few things that you need to decide on before you can make a choice.

Yes, you have said it is for free products, but then which free products. Will you be showing info about free products all around? If so, then you have to go for a blogging engine - Wordpress is a good one. (After MT moved to open source, you can check that option too).

But if it is a product of your own creation that you want to give away freely, I would suggest you go for a CMS - Joomla for example. (But I prefer Drupal - I have launched quite a handful of sites using Drupal).

Even if your site is a blog, I wouldn't go with Wordpress. I tried Wordpress and didn't like it at all. I would go with http://b2evolution.net it is a much better blog, In my opinion...

    Hello,

    I agree with you Vyoma.

In my opinion there is no good / bad Cms. It depends of what are you building...and may be if sometimes we make a bad choice, it means that we don't have choosed the right cms for our project.

So, both wordpress & Joomla are good. As the other members has said, if you want to build a blog, go with wordpress and if you want to build a site then go with joomla. (or other CMS )

    Good luck,

    Regards,
