Its not the most important mistake, its the biggest mistake, and the one we should avoid. In any form of trading market research is essesntial, dont just buy for the sake of buying, do it because it's the right thing.

I would say #1. Trading with money you can't afford to lose.
If this is the case #2-#7 doesn't matter and they have no business investing in the first place.

trading itself is a mistake for an individual. an individual should be investing... not trading... leave trading for profit to pros like prop desks and hedge funds. individuals should buy good companies for cheap and be patient. that's it. there's no need to pay excessive commissions and pay the tax-man.

honestly, these retarded talking heads on CNBC etc should be banned for misleading the public. or there should at least be a disclaimer running constantly on the screen all the time they talk saying that the guy talking has no clue what he's talking about. and that king of idiots - Cramer who is super retarded, mashallah, he should be behind bars.

all the good work that the likes of Buffett, Templeton, Munger, Bogle have done to educate the average man on proper investing is being undone by Cramer and his gang of TV idiots....................
