How to promote my site

I have 2sites.But I don't know how to promote it. So please give me advice's.

There are many avenues you can use to promote your site.

1) Web directories - Just search for them and submit your site then voila! It starts appearing in search engines.

2) Social Networking (Facebook, Twitter, Myspace etc) - It's really big these days and has been working for me. Create groups on FB, use your Twitter to market your sites by adding followers who will follow back.

3) Video Marketing - Use Youtube to promote your site by creating a video. In my case, I upload videos of my site's subject and always link my site in the video information. I even have my own Youtube channel for my site and have been gaining subscribers!

4) Forums like these. Enough said.

5) Link Exchanges - This is one I intend on doing more of because it really works. So you should try it too.

PS I also promote my site on Yahoo Answers but always noting it as a source.

I think it would also be good to note that the forums that you promote your website on should be dofollow forums.

You can also promote your website by commenting on dofollow blogs and thru article submission.

All I can suggest to you is.. if you don't have knowledge in SEO and or in Internet
Marketing, you better understand what is SEO first and what it's dos and don'ts..
After you learn in..

Start with the basic SEO techniques:

- Web Directories Submission
- Classified Ads
- Social Bookmarking
- Forum Posting
- Blogging
- Article Submission

Then the rest follows..

I need to try the article submission as well as dofollow and see what effects it would have on my traffic.

You can also promote your website offline by word of mouth, it might not get you much traffic but it works instantly, quicker than most online ways.

promoting site is a difficult task and if not done properly can result in wastage of money
you should promote your site in places where the readers can take interest in your site
ex if you have a ebook site then you should add in amazo.co or google or soew good yahoo search engine
