If you want to promote your website. First let's go back to on-page optimization, optimizing meta tags like description and keyword so that it relates to your website. There are lots of ways to promote your website, the last post gives a few online methods. I've said time and time again, dont just promote using link building (which many of the tips above refer to), but build a reputation for you and your site.

Take every opportunity to publicise your site online AND offline, for example add the site url as part of your email signature, drop it into conversation whenever possible (you'd be surprised how effective this can be).

And of course get a good ranking with the Search Engines, employ some on page SEO techniques in addition to off page.

For me, I found the safelists to be the most effective way to get visitors to a website. - You never want the ones that take monthly payments though! - Get the lifetime membership types. - I also recommend double-opt in, web based safelists as well. - They do work, you just have to keep sending your ads out thru them! - I always get the max membership upgrades as you get more sending power - Enjoy!
