How to track if visitors are clicking the external links/banners or not?

I am selling advertisement space and text link spots on my website and I want to know that if visitors to my site are clicking on those ads and text links or not?

Is there any way to track it? Please let me know about that.

You could either setup a redirect page which will track the clickthroughs - and all the adds have to go through that. Or if thats not an option you may be able to use the javascript onclick event and use an ajax request to log what the user clicked on.

You can bit.ly services, when you insert a long url, bit.ly will short the url. Place the short url to your site, each site when someone click the bit.ly url, you will get those traffic data.

Go to whatsmyip.com and put your link there it will give you and external link put that link in your site if any one open it you will get his ip. .
