3d software
What is the best 3d software that I should download? I wanna get a head start because next year our school will offer 3d animation but I don't want to be a noob.
I did google it, but I want your opinions and experiences.

RE: 3d software
Cinema 4D is good to start with. It's quite complicated like most 3d software, but I think C4D has the most tutorials.
I've seen people do the most amazing things with Lightwave and 3D Studio MAx

Thanks Cort! That's weird software, it just opens from the exe, it doesn't install or anything. Well we'll see how it goes.
Xiao, I will try that one, but I'm assuming it's not free right? *coughlimewire*

Cinema 4d is 2000 mb :| well I googled torrents because I didn't know what it was and it brought me to the download, I hope it doesn't have a virus.

Torrents tend to be virus-free. =]

C4D isn't 2gig :s
3DSMax is used most in the business (meaning game developers and such).Although many people say C4D is basicly just as good or even better.
There is an awesome modelling program called Modo, you can download the demo at their site (forgot url, just google for it). Although it doesn't have a render function, so you'll have to render in another application (C4D, lightwave, ...)
