Many designers tend to forget abou optimising graphics, it is important. When designing a site remember about the lttle surfer who has a slow dial up modem, what may take you 10 seconds to load, may take him or her more than just a few minutes.

There's a few smple rules to using graphics:
1 Use the most appropraiet format
2 Scale to the right size, don't let the browser do it for you.
3 Reduce any redundancy by optimising the image (may need additional software)
