Any way to alter a PSD without Photoshop?

That's what my question is really and I have a feeling the answer will be no. Any bright ideas? And please, don't make "I don't know" posts, they don't help.

Yes, Adobe Fireworks CS3 had available for .PSD extension. Go to File in menu-bar then Save As.... then find .PSD extension in drop down box.

I dont think you can modify psd without using photoshop, just install photoshop adn you will be able to edit it.

Even you don't have photoshop add-ons you can save .PSD in Fireworks CS3. Firework C3 is part of Adobe products.
