    Default Online file storage?

Any suggestions as to somewhere that's safe and inexpensive (or even free) to store files online? I don't need a video or music one but I do need somewhere trustworthy. Not that I have any state secrets or anything LOL, but I don't want some fly-by-night operation that I'll go to login to one day and find it all gone and inaccessible.

Hey Kay........buddy buddy buddy how can u don`t know about the biggest online file hosting or file storage on the web.......................the code is RS

    named rapidshare.com

u can upload any amount of files anysize (if more than 100mb then in parts) n if u transfer it to a collectors account then u can keep it secure for even life time n u have to spend a lot of.....TIME coz if ur not a premium user u`ll not get full download speed but i`ll suggest don`t worry about die hard speed.......the normal one is also manageable if u don`t wanna put GB`s of content.....n the most rocking feature than many of the sites don`t have that they do have limits for a country like "Download/Upload limit for your country is used up please buy a premium account"

another rocking feature which u were looking for.........it costs $0.00 ONLY. they`ll provide u find ur files n to whom the files should be shared with. n total privacy n full support........make sure u transfer to a collector`s account that`s also free to keep ur files being deleted if not accessed for much time...........give it a try.....thank me if feel it`s good.....hope u`ve got the right solution n get ur problem solved.
I wish to change the world, but they don`t provide me the source. HACK - 'R'

I can also recommend Megaupload. It's pretty much the same thing as rapidshare, but for me it's a lot faster to download from than rapidshare (with a basic or no account). Depending on which of their servers the file ends up I get either 400 kb/sec or 1.5 MB/s (yes its weird I know) - without a premium account that is. The free account gives you 200 MB storage space - if you need more you can of course go for a premium account (which is not free though).

Cheers, rohitanu, that's really helpful! I had heard of them but I prefer to hear from other's personal experience how good a service really is. Usually I use imageshack for images but wanted an alternative.

Good to hear about the collector's account! I had pics stored long ago on an ivillage one that I lost for that very reason. I went back to look for them and they were gone. The thing was I'd been using the pics at a forum I was building on and off, so that totally messed it up because I'd deleted them after uploading it, thinking they were safe there. A lesson learned.

Thanks mayerli, that sounds good too! I take it you've used both by what you've said. For speed, I'd lean towards your choice then but does that also have the unlimited storage forever? I don't want to go through that ivillage mess again. That really was depressing. Thanks for the input!

Rohitanu, have you tried the one mayerli suggested? I'd like to hear your thoughts on that service too.

Yeah buddy used MU a lot but still prefer RS reliable n i have all my software`s n personal files uploaded at a safe account on RS. That`s why i had referred u RS coz i had used MU but did not find it much reliable like RS. My vote goes to RS.

there are lots of online storage like fileden.com or shared.com. well not shared.com if you have to put it there then you have to share it. you just have to zip it and with password.

filehippo n all there are many but i had what took me the best to suggest rather than giving lot`s of choices n then the person has to try all for everything. Just gave the best suggestion according to the requirements n what i thought would be best n reliable that`s all but options are much more to say more than 50 sites as i know providing the thing but i had suggested only 1.
