remember:- Seo is not a one night work and nobody gets instant results. So have patience and practice your SEO work regularly.

I assume you're starting out? Is this a blog or a business site? If a blog: You don't have to worry about "rank" in search engines in early stages of web development this is a "wrong" notion most newbie webmasters do, what you want is to build your website with good content, no need for SEO in early stages yet.

If you're a business website then, that's a different story, you could submit your sites to different web directories but I suggest you get a professional to do it for you.
