Gmail signup need mobile number

I am trying to signup in google and it is asking me mobile number, so I can create one gmail id per mobile now

Yes it is asking me for mobile number too when i signup but when I use signup with my dynamic ip at home its not asking for mobile number so I think if you signup using proxies then you can signup

They ask your mobile number because they want to information you only not more.
