How many backlinks?

How many backlinks should I have to get good PR in google? Do you advise to buy backlinks? Will google know that I am buying links from others?

I'm not sure if it really matters how many backlinks you have... I would not recommend buying backlinks as its pretty easy getting them for free via forums, articles, directory submissions, and blogs. If you nail your site a bunch of links google will notice and discredit you for it I believe.

Not only backlinks but the content on your site also matters. All things are realted to each other. Like a circle, you have to keep your wheel rotating.

I will never suggest anyone to buy the backlinks.

It depends upon the quality of the backlink(s), A back link pours more link juice if it is from high pr site. Relevancy of the site is also important. In short, relevant high pr back links may get you a good page rank.

thousand of BL wont get your PR rank up if they are just BL from PR 0 sites. the best way is to get your link anchored at high PR web page not just a site with high ranked homepage

I have found that 10 good niche related backlinks are better then 100 unrelated pr links and have reached as high as a pr4 for the first pr rank using this method.

You should concentrate on getting backlinks from high quality sites related to your niche only. In my opinion dont buy back links directly from a site because Google dont like link selling and buying. So try to buy a backlink through an advertising network like TNX.net

If you can afford to pay for sponsored links, I recommend you buy links.

It's not how many but the quality of the backlink, whether it's from PR1 2 or 0. This really counts lot. well we don't know the exact value and very difficult to find out

The previous poster is right. Its not the quantity of the backlinks but the quality. High PR links from relevant sites are the best to have.
