how can i get my website to show on google

You first have to register with the search engine. How to do that is by signing up with google (iGoogle) and contact them about your website. Their search engine will try to find you, and then whenever someone searches the key words, your website is a result. This can sometimes take up to 3 months.

Correct is right PatrickT! It does take up to about three months to show up in the search. Also phillipkenny, remember that you need to acquire a certain number of hits per day in order to be found in the search engine. It can also be a disadvantage if you don't have a damain name.

Yay! I was right! You need those hits per day because that means you have enough traffic to be worth viewing by the searchers! If any site could be on Google, imagine how many results we would have for a simple search! :O

guys... the most important thing is "SEO", did you used SEO within your site phill ??? After you submit your site, you can use social bookmark to speed up SE crawling...

To get picked up by google, you can add your url http://www.google.com/addurl.html here. But a better way is to accumulate backlinks from other people's sites and let the google spiders trace you from other people's websites (its faster that way)

first, try to get a lot of backlinks to your site. Visit social chains and blogs related, and post comments with links to your site.
Second, try to see what words inside your pages are important, and ask yourself if they are appearing and well positioned inside the pages. Some executables like lynx or pages like webconfs.com will help you in these tasks.
