How do searches on Google help me?

Yup, Google will drive traffic into your site However, unless your domain name contains keywords it is very unlikely that someone will search www.mysite.com on Google. That's when keywords come in handy

SEO the answer. You can search on google how to SEO-ing your website. If you use CMS-blog like wordpress there are some plugin to SEO-ing your website. There are plugin sitemap generator, meta keyword and meta tag generator until SEO-ing image of the content with renaming it.

A very simple answer - Yes it helps your site a lot. You get traffic that we all crave for. But converting traffic into buying customers is a whole different ballgame

Anyway, basically google will help people to find your website when they search. Just say your website is about cows, a domain name like cow.com/net etc would be a very good because cow would be a keyword of that website, like graphics would a graphics website.

Basically, if you get top spot for cow on google most people would click on your link if they seared cow, which means your site would get more views, your ads will have more chance of being clicked and all other sorts of benefits.
